MRI - What it Means to the Waterloo Wellington Region

 

$1,000,000

A capital grant of $1 Million to the Cambridge Memorial Hospital Foundation to help with the purchase a Magnetic Resonance Imaging Machine (MRI).

Grand River Hospital Foundation

Grand River Hospital Mental Health and Addictions Education Proposal

$234,100 (3 year grant)

 

A multi-year grant for the Grand River Hospital's Mental Health and Addiction education program. The patients and families the program serves rely on the expertise and knowledge of the Hospital’s clinical staff to provide quality, compassionate care. This grant will significantly enhance staff knowledge and skills, and provide resources for patients and families.

St. Mary's General Hospital Foundation

Cardiac Renewal at St. Mary's General Hospital

$250,000

A capital grant towards the purchase of a new $1.4 million x-ray camera for the Cardiac Catheterization Lab at St. Mary’s Regional Cardiac Care Centre. This cutting-edge technology will improve patient care and safety, and will replace a camera which was purchased when regional cardiac services were first launched at St. Mary’s in 2001.

Family and Children's Services Of The Regional Municipality Of Waterloo Foundation

The Family Centre for children, youth, and families of Waterloo Region

$100,000

 

A capital grant to offset the cost of the gymnasium in the Family Centre which will provide programming, direct service, and recreational opportunities to assist disadvantaged families, youth, and children in reaching their full potential.

Discover the Joy of Reading

$50,000

A capital grant to make the Children's Department a stimulating space for children age 0-5. The Discovery Zone will be a destination for families with young children, and the programming available will encourage the development of critical pre-literacy skills.

Langs Farm Village Association

Creating Accessible Recreation Space for Rural Youth

$50,000

A capital grant for Langs as the sponsoring organization for The Centre for the Community Group, the North Dumfries CHC Satellite and the Township of North Dumfries partnership to create affordable and accessible recreation programs for rural youth from low income families.

Community Hub Services for Children and Families

$150,000

A capital grant towards the Community Hub Services for Children and Families to create accessible community space dedicated to meeting the recreational, social and health needs of youth and families. The creation of a community centre with a wide range of services can contribute to physical health and skill building, relationships with peers, and self-esteem.

A capital grant to support the construction of facilities and infrastructure to accommodate programs for kids’ education and public involvement. The grant will help rare offer more programming to the community, with facilities that are better able to support year round efforts, children with special needs, and researchers.

A multi-year grant to support the implementation of Strong Start's Get Ready for School program which is designed to prevent at-risk preschoolers from being disadvantaged at school entry in their readiness to learn to read.

Promoting Strength-Based Practice in Waterloo Region

This project will bring together child-serving organizations so that they explore and exchange knowledge of strength-based approaches and mentor each other to create or further develop related programs and services in Waterloo Region.

Growing Forward: Moving Community Markets into the Future

 

$20,000

 

A one year grant to help align the administration of three existing Community Neighbourhood Markets Sites, under the Highland Stirling Community Group to increase outreach work, staff capacity to generate revenue and run the markets in a sustainable manner.
