The Institute for Health Promotion at the University of Waterloo was designed to encourage healthier lifestyles in Canada. The research being done is helping create programs that focus on teaching people to take care of themselves by staying active and healthy, thereby preventing disease from ever developing.
The Foundation contributed $2 million dollars toward the construction a three-storey wing of Lyle Hallman Institute for Health Promotion. The new wing houses the Centre for Behavioural Research and Program Evaluation; Population Health Research Group; Centre of Research Expertise in Musculoskeletal disorders; and “Ideas for Health”– a centre for health informatics research.
