Lyle S. Hallman was dedicated to the growth and development of the Region of Waterloo. He placed a great deal of emphasis on health, education and children’s initiatives. It is this vision, which guides the Lyle S. Hallman Foundation. In collaboration with a cross-section of society, we work to realize the goals set for the Region by Lyle himself.
At the time of Lyle’s death, he structured his gifts to the Foundation in two distinct ways: a significant outright gift that was to be disbursed immediately following his death, and a fund that was to be established in perpetuity.
The first grants were designed to commemorate and honour the commitments and life of Lyle Hallman. The Foundation invested over $10 million in the following projects:
University of Waterloo – School of Pharmacy
Wilfrid Laurier University – Faculty of Social Work
University of Waterloo – Institute for Health Promotion
University of Waterloo – Kids in Action
