Catholic Family Counselling Centre

Catholic Family Counselling Centre exists so that people find the strength, skills and confidence to deal with life's challenges and opportunities.

CFCC is a voluntary, not-for-profit family service agency providing a range of social services to all persons in the Region of Waterloo regardless of religious affiliation, sexual orientation, cultural and ethnic origins, age, gender, or, economic status.  CFCC is accredited by Family Services and the Ontario Association of Credit Counselling Services.  CFCC is a member agency of the United Way of Kitchener-Waterloo and area and receives funding from a diverse range of government, business, philanthropic sources, along with user fees.

The Waterloo Region Domestic Violence Project is the first of its kind in Canada and is modeled after the San Diego Family Justice Centre in California. The collaborative model of services for victims under one roof has a significant impact on the reduction of homicides and violent attacks. The collaborative approach also has an important prevention component to educate citizens with the intent of reducing domestic violence in future generations.

The Foundation’s 3 year grant of $200,000 to the Catholic Family Counselling Centre will go towards the cost of constructing an addition to house the Domestic Violence Collaborative, and help with the cost to coordinate and support this collaborative effort.
