Education

The Foundation will establish its funding strategy and priorities for the education programme in 2008 for the 2009 granting process.

In 2008, the Foundation will consider educational requests that cover the life span of learning including:

• Pre-school

• Elementary

• Secondary

• Skilled trades and apprenticeships

• Post-secondary

• Continuing education

The Foundation will give higher priority to requests that:

• Engage and inspire learners to develop their potential

• Build literacy and numeracy skills

• Foster caring learning environments

• Build links between educational institutions and the community

• Develop innovative initiatives that address an educational gap
